Frequently Asked Questions

Reservations

Yes, this is mandatory. This allows us to regulate the number of guests. Without a reservation, we cannot grant you access to our resort.

We require a mandatory arrival and departure time so that we can regulate the number of guests and ensure the safety and well-being of both our guests and our staff. We kindly ask you to arrive at the specified arrival time and to leave the resort at the departure time you selected when making your reservation.

Would you like to make changes to your reservation? The date or time, for example? Or would you like to add a treatment after all? We are happy to arrange it for you, but please note that our cancellation conditions may apply.
Please use our modification request form.

We accept the National Sauna & Wellness Gift Card, Wellnessresort Maastricht gift cards, SpaSereen gift cards, and Thermen Resorts gift cards.

Beauty treatments

You will be informed of the time of your treatment when you arrive. What is certain is that your treatment will be scheduled between your selected arrival and departure times. There will always be at least half an hour between your arrival and your first treatment, allowing you to take your time and ease into your visit. After all, you are here to relax.

Of course, we do our very best to meet your wishes. However, we cannot guarantee your preferred time. After all, there are more guests with preferences. And… first come, first served!
You will be informed of the final time upon arrival.

Yes, you can. If treatments are still available on the day of your visit, you can book them upon arrival. If you truly want to be sure that you can enjoy your favorite treatment, we recommend reserving it well in advance. That way, you have even more wellness pleasure to look forward to.

Facilities

Everyone deserves the opportunity to enjoy wellness. So yes, our wellness resort is as wheelchair accessible as possible. However, there are a few facilities that are not accessible by wheelchair, such as the panorama sauna, the footbath, the whirlpools, and the swimming pool.

In addition to offering rest, we also provide privacy, so you can use a designated space for pumping. We will store the milk for you in our refrigerator.

Yes, our baths contain chlorine. In the Netherlands, it is legally required to chlorinate bath water. At Thermen Maastricht, we therefore add chlorine, but only in the minimum required amount.

The humidity level in a steam cabin is much higher than in a sauna. In a steam cabin, water is heated to produce steam, which is then released into the cabin.

Saunas, on the other hand, have a very low humidity level. A sauna uses heated stones to create dry air and a high temperature.

Other questions

No, there are not. However, there are designated swimwear days. On those days, everyone is required to wear swimwear, all day and in all areas.

Yes, certainly. We accept credit cards (with the exception of Amex).

That can happen, of course. We keep lost and found items for one month. Have you forgotten something? Then send an email to info@thermenmaastricht.nl and we will let you know if we have found it.

Your mental relaxation allows your muscles to relax deeply as well, enabling the energy in your body to circulate freely again. A visit to the sauna is therefore a beneficial act for both your body and mind.

You may take your seat whenever you wish; the kitchen opening hours are displayed in the restaurant.

To ensure your visit is as relaxing as possible, we naturally take allergies and dietary requirements into account. Please indicate them when making your reservation (in the comments field), and we will look for an appropriate solution.

To preserve the tranquility within the wellness resort, children aged 0 to 11 are not permitted to use the facilities. Children aged 12 to 16 are only allowed entry when accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Swimwear is permitted—and required—only on Swimwear Days. For women, a swimsuit or bikini is allowed, and for men, swim trunks are allowed.

Wearing full-body swimwear (such as a burkini or headscarf) is not permitted in our resort. The reason for this is that your body temperature and heart rate increase significantly in the sauna, and full-body swimwear prevents your body from cooling down properly. Visiting the sauna in covering clothing can therefore pose health risks.

In addition, your body releases a large number of waste substances during a sauna visit. Wearing full-body swimwear causes these substances to be retained and further spread, which is not hygienic for you or our other guests.
